*sampleton — Built for independent producers
About sampleton
Built for
independent producers.
Sample clearance is one of the most opaque, time-consuming, and expensive parts of making music commercially. It was designed for major labels with legal teams — not for a bedroom producer working alone. Sampleton exists to change that.
Clearance is broken for independents.

If you're an independent producer and you want to clear a sample, your options are: hire a music lawyer at $300–$500 per hour, cold-email labels and publishers with no idea who to contact, or just hope no one notices. None of these are acceptable.

Rights holder contact information is scattered across PRO databases, Discogs, AllMusic, Hunter.io, and dozens of other sources. Pulling it together for a single sample can take a full day of research. Most producers skip clearance entirely — which creates legal exposure that can destroy a release.

Infrastructure, not a marketplace.

Sampleton is communication infrastructure — like DocuSign for sample clearance. We don't act as a middleman between producers and rights holders. We give producers the tools to reach rights holders directly, in a professional format, with all the right information attached.

01
Audio fingerprinting
ACRCloud and AudD identify your sample with ~95% accuracy. Returns title, artist, ISRC, and label.
02
Master rights
Label identified via fingerprint, cross-referenced with Discogs and AllMusic to surface the licensing contact.
03
Publishing / PRO
BMI → ASCAP → SESAC → MusicBrainz → Copyright Office + 10 international PROs searched in sequence.
04
Contact finding
Hunter.io, Clearbit, RocketReach, and direct scraping surface the licensing inbox for the identified rights holder.
05
Clearance request sent
A professional email goes out with a unique portal link. Rights holders can submit terms or decline directly — no lawyers needed.
12%
Fee on closed deals only
We take 12% when a deal closes. If no deal closes — because a contact wasn't found or a rights holder didn't respond — you pay nothing extra.
"No dominant incumbent owns this space."
There is no software platform that automates sample clearance for independent producers at scale. The workflows that exist are manual, expensive, and gatekept by industry connections. That gap is what sampleton was built to close.
